The role:
The Programme Officer will support Oxfam’s Just Energy Transition (JET) movement in Bangladesh, contributing to the global clean energy campaign and national-level policy advocacy. The role involves coordinating project activities, engaging in multi-stakeholder dialogues, and building networks with government, civil society, private sector actors (notably RMG industries and international brands), climate financing bodies, and academic institutions. As part of the PMU team, the Programme Officer will ensure effective implementation of projects that advance civic space, promote locally led climate adaptation, and protect grower communities. Key responsibilities include project coordination, budget and compliance support, partner communication, reporting, event organization, and fostering inclusive, rights-based approaches.
This is a short-term position up to February 2026.

Salary & Benefits: as per Oxfam National D2 pay band, starting annual salary for this role is BDT 1,033,995.00 (13 months) with other benefits e.g., medical for self, spouse and children, contributory provident fund, gratuity, leave, life insurance, mobile allowance, and other admissible benefits as per the organizational policy. For highly competent & experienced candidates the salary can be negotiable.
