Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts / Fashion Design / Creative Arts

Demonstrated experience in contemporary creative product design.

Experienced in jute or cloth-based product development based on current market opportunity’s.

Experience in artisanal product design considering Rohingya culture  Knowledge on value chain development of jute and cloth-based products.

Skilled in utilizing Illustrator and Photoshop effectively.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

Willingness and ability to work in hardship environment.

Ability to work independently without regular supervision and minimum assistance.

Excellent teamwork, and a proven track record of building trust within and empowering teams.

Able to find innovation in product development.

Research & Development of seasonal themes and inspirations.

Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and reporting skills in English and effective interpersonal and negotiation skills, proven through successful interactions with all levels of stakeholder groups.

The NGO Forum for Public Health, in partnership with UNHCR, empowers refugee communities through its Self-Reliance and Livelihood Project. Key initiatives include the production of jute and cloth-based items, menstrual hygiene materials.

 By fostering economic opportunities and sustainability, NGOF has provided livelihoods to over 3000 individuals in 2025. With a focus on gender inclusion, disability integration, and eco-friendly products, the project enhances community resilience while promoting environmental sustainability.

The role of Product Design and Development Officer plays a crucial role in driving innovation by developing new products and improving existing ones. Their expertise ensures that our offerings remain relevant, competitive, and aligned with market trends, giving our organization an edge over competitors. The position is vital for sustaining long-term growth, enhancing product quality, reducing costs, and ensuring that our organization remains competitive, customer-focused, and innovation-driven.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop creative products considering the artisanal skills in the camps

Generate and evaluate new product ideas and concepts and identify new opportunities and formulate product concepts

Identify and implement design improvements (functionality, cost, and design for manufacture)

Analysing sketches and samples, understanding consumer requirements and develop products

Liaise closely with all departments to fully understand the design and product requirements

Liaise with external suppliers and project team for sourcing raw materials

Provide support to production team to improve lead times

Provide technical support during the sample process from sketch development to final approval of  the products. 

Submitting proposals and sample designs for evaluation by the project management team before moving to the final production/manufacturing

Modify and improve  existing designs to meet changing customer/consumer preferences

Collaborate with Marketing and Sales Teams in monitoring product performance from the launch stage and initiate appropriate solutions in case of product rollout problems

Review all samples thoroughly and ensure all comment instructions followed prior to dispatch samples

Maintain strong relationship with the team members

Any other duties assigned by the Project Management Unit
