Job Context:
∎ E. A. Choudhury Technical Institute (EACTI) is a not-for-profit modern, large, and state-of-the-art Technical and Vocational Institute at Dakkhin Surma, Sylhet (14 km from Sylhet City towards Fenchuganj) with an aim to craft an education system, which would be more suitable for the 21st century. The institute is located at 6.5 bigha land at Daudpur, Dakkhin Surma, Sylhet with constructed building area of 40,145 sq. ft. including administrative building, academic building, and modern workshop. This vocational training institute is approved by Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). The institute has partnered with large companies in different industries in Bangladesh and offers job placements for students, poor and unemployed persons.
∎ Intention of the institute is to spread technical education on non-commercial basis i.e. at free or nominal cost to both the students and under-privileged people to find ways to support them, particularly the women to become self-reliant. In accordance with rules and regulations of Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) the institute started skill based (360 hours) courses i.e. Tailoring & Dress Making, IT and Computer, Driving & Auto Mechanics, Language and softer skills. To ensure quality education the institute intends to recruit Full-Time instructors for the Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering Departments from qualified candidates of Bangladeshi nationals.
∎ Job Location: South Surma, Sylhet (14 km from Sylhet City towards Fenchuganj). Housing facility will be provided at the Institute.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ To contribute to developing and implementing institute's values, vision, mission and goals, and development of future strategy documents as needed.
∎ To report to the sponsors/management of E. A. Chaudhury Family Foundation (called the "Foundation") and be actively involved with the strategies and activities of the foundation.
∎ To contribute to develop and ensure implementation of a business plan with short, medium- and long-term strategic plans and business goals for transforming the Technical Institute as a social enterprise. In this regard, ensure local resource mobilization and initiate income generating activities to achieve self-sustaining status of the institute.
∎ To ensure conducive and inclusive learning and working environment and promote a culture which tangibly reflects the values of the institute.
∎ To ensure adherence to decent work standards and compliances relevant for institute.
∎ To ensure that the technical institute has a safe and secure learning environment for students and staff. Ensure all relevant policies are understood and adhered to in this regard i.e. Policy on Prevention of sexual harassment, Gender Policy, Safety and Security Policy, etc.
∎ To take necessary steps to market the institute's program to the local, regional, and foreign communities to obtain all types of financial aid and technical support.
∎ To seek and arrange both technical and financial assistance and collaboration for both local and foreign entities for the institute.
∎ To contribute to promote and ensure branding compliance at the institute.
∎ To conduct class as necessary and provide supportive guidance.
∎ To ensure high quality teaching/learning and improvement in academic results through effective supervision and monitoring using modern technology- based software.
∎ To introduce innovative methodologies and ensure effective teaching/learning processes.
∎ To conduct different exams for students at Technical Institute and ensure timely dissemination of exam results.
∎ To supervise Technical Institute activities on a regular basis for ensuring quality of services and overall management of the Technical Institute.
∎ To proactively introduce tech-based business solutions for increasing efficiency in management of Technical Institute. Co-ordinate with relevant departments.
∎ To proactively identify use of technology and innovative approaches in teaching/learning processes and introduce in institute.
∎ To ensure proper management of the Technical Institute (assets, legal, governance, human resource, insurance, audit, etc.)
∎ To plan and host various visit of donors, management, government, SMT, media and others.
∎ To actively participate in all relevant meetings and other purposes.
∎ To ensure availability of necessary material, equipment; and functioning of all utilities for the proper maintenance and management of the technical institute.
∎ To encourage and initiate continued improvement in curricula, teaching and training methods in cooperation with industry experts, BTEB, ISCs, Foundation, Skills Planning Committee etc.
∎ To maintain discipline within classroom and institute premise and take necessary action.
∎ To pursue for effective placement of the trainees at the institute.
∎ Promote and contribute to on-going efforts towards gender equity & equality, child/staff protection & safeguard, inclusiveness, accessibility and discrimination free environment in the workplace and operations/activities/plans. In applicable cases, ensure that necessary budget allocation is there and in KPIs these issues are reflected.
∎ To carry out any other relevant tasks assigned by the Foundation as and when necessary.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years for B.Sc. degree
∎ At least 10 years for Diploma in Engineering.
∎ Relevant professional experience would be added advantages.
∎ CBT&A certification would be added advantages.
∎ Good command on communication skills in both Bangla and English.
∎ Self-motivated, adaptable, team player and passion for social development works.
∎ Age limit for the applicant would be 45 years. Management has the right to make exceptions based on qualifications.
