Education: - A Medical graduate (MBBS) with Postgraduate Degree recognized by BMDC or a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy/ Speech and Language Therapy with a Postgraduate Degree in Health Sciences include: Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy/ Speech and Language Therapy/others from any government or internationally recognized university/institution.
- Higher education, including a PhD, will be an added advantage.

Skills Required: Additional Requirements: - Minimum 16 years of experience in teaching/clinical/relevant areas with at least 10 years of teaching experience which should preferably include at least 03 years of service as a Professor or in equivalent position in higher education.
- Administrative experience in educational institution & academic excellency in same will be preferred.
Responsibilities & Context: ROLE OVERVIEW:
- As a focal person, overall s/he will be responsible for achieving academic excellence at Bangladesh Health Professions Institute (BHPI), CRP. Inherent in this objective are the responsibilities for scheduling, day-to-day operations, academic networking and liaison, curriculum development, extracurricular activities, personnel management, emergency procedures, and facility operations.
- Ensure the continuation of educational quality to build highly skilled and compassionate health professionals.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain constant strategic supervision of learning and progresses.
- Foster a secure and caring learning environment.
- Liaise with all to ensure that the individual needs and aspirations of all students are identified accurately and provided coherently and consistently to maximize progress and achievement.
- Facilitate the scope for growth of all employees under supervision to ensure quality of education and other services.
- Contribute to monitoring and reviewing of all regular activities like admissions and record-keeping & documentation.
- Ensure that there is a common understanding and agreement of the essential characteristics of a good lesson among all staff and that these characteristics are regularly and consistently applied in all lesson planning and teaching sessions.
- Assist in conducting the overall activities especially relating to BHPI and implementation of curriculum as one of the key faculty members
MAJOR AND SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES RELATING TO CURRICULUM, TEACHING AND LEARNING:
- Lead on all issues relating to the strategy, planning, management and delivery of courses and qualifications, learning resources and libraries, research and advanced scholarly activity,
- Ensure that BHPI curriculum meets statutory requirements,
- Assist in preparing regular annual academic calendar,
- Ensure that all the academic and co-curricular activities are conducted as per academic calendar.
- Take classes as required and requested in relevant discipline,
- Monitor and analyze different modules and practices in order to validate the effectiveness of academic programs,
- Co-ordinate with the development of quality control around teaching and learning and development,
- Ensure timely conduct of all examinations/tests involving internal and external examiners,
- Undertake necessary activities so that results of all examinations and tests are published in a timely manner,
- Undertake necessary actions so that academic activities are not hampered due to the lack of faculty members.
- Ensure that all the class lesson plans, outlines, lectures, assignments, thesis papers are preserved on a regular basis for further usages.
- Undertake applicable and viable automation activities as required and approved.
- Arrange academic council and governing body meetings as required and requested.
- Ensure that staffs are properly qualified, motivated and encouraged to obtain the best possible results from students.
- Ensure that demanding targets are set and achieved throughout the organization, where quality and performance are monitored rigorously.
- Empower staff to be pro-active participants in their development and to use their feedback to support quality improvement.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES RELATING TO STUDENTS' RELATIONS:
- Orient students with CRP values and disabilities,
- Contribute time and efforts to instill human values among the students,
- Encourage employees to form and maintain different clubs like debate club, assistive device club etc.
- Arrange periodic events like study tours, picnic etc. with the participation of relevant employees.
- Assist students in grievance handling and counseling issues.
- Undertake disciplinary actions in case of violations of policies by students.
- Maintain regular communication with guardians so that they are well-informed about their children's academic performance.
- Assist them in making different publications or writing articles.
- Specific and major activities relating to administration, human resource management and finance:
- Ensure proper cleanliness of academic areas and maintenance of equipment that belongs to BHPI.
- Ensure proper takeover following maintenance/construction,
- Process requisition in case of human resource requirements,
- Assist in performance appraisal processes of all employees under supervision on a regular basis,
- Assist CRP HR department in recruitment process of employees for BHPI,
- Maintain effective and regular relations with relevant bodies like Dhaka University, state medical faculty etc as required and requested.
- Maintain close coordination and cooperation with other departments/divisions of CRP for smooth functioning of academic activities.
- Maintain transparency in the accounts and finance related activities of BHPI.
- Ensure proper documentation of activities that have long term implications.
- Undertake security measures so that forgery like incidents can be avoided.
- Timely disbursal of transcripts and maintaining their copies for extended period of time.
- Act as the spokesperson to the management for the academic division of CRP.
- Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by office/supervisor.
