Experience:

• At least 3 years

• Diploma in Nursing from an accredited academic institution; and recognized & registered by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).

• BSc Nursing graduates are preferred.

• At least 3 years

• At least three (3) years’ experience in relevant clinical fields (OT Nurse)

• Previous experience in international organization is an advantage. Knowledge and experience with working in the field and medical emergency department and Trauma management will be added as advantage.

• Effectively applies knowledge on clinical skills, bedside manner, infection control, administering medication, phlebotomy, maintenance etc.

• Adequate practical knowledge on handling child delivery and its complication

• Works effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.

• Required: Bangla-Fluent, Advantageous: English – Moderate

• Prepare a list, in consultation with specialists and the facility manager, of OT instruments, medications, and other OT consumables.

• Ensure that all OT instruments, equipment, and materials are sterilized and ready for routine and emergency OT procedures.

• Identify preoperative, operative, and postoperative patient care requirements.

• Assist the consultant during surgery as an OT team member/assistant when required.

• Provide nursing care to patients admitted to the IPD.

• Explain medical procedures to patients and attendants during the preoperative, operative, and postoperative phases, or as required. Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support.

• Assist patients in understanding their condition, medications (including dosage intervals), and other doctor`s recommendations. Teach patients, friends, and family self-care skills and answer any questions they may have.

• Assist the Medical Doctor in conducting health examinations, including history taking, measurements, treatment, medication management and dispensing, immunizations, and collating medical reports.

• Assist in performing medical procedures and referrals, including patient follow-up and specimen collection, as required.

• Ensure the operation of OT equipment by completing regular maintenance, following manufacturer`s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling Biomedical engineer for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques

• Document patient care services by updating patient registers and other records regularly. Assist the Medical Doctor in preparing daily reports for further submission.

• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
