Requirements

• Experience: Practical experience in an Operation Theatre is required. (Experience in an Eye Hospital is a strong advantage).
• Gender: Male Candidates Only (Required for camp travel and heavy lifting duties).

Skills:

• Must know how to handle and clean delicate eye instruments.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques (sterilization).
• Hardworking, punctual, and obedient to senior medical staff.

Operation Theatre (OT) Assistant (Ophthalmology)

Al Noor Eye Hospital, Dhaka, is looking for a hardworking and experienced Male candidate to join our team as an OT Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to work in a professional environment with a very attractive benefits package.

Position Details

• Role: OT Assistant / OT Technician
• Department: Operation Theatre (Major & Minor)
• Location: Al Noor Eye Hospital, Dhaka

Job Responsibilities

Your primary role is to assist the Surgeon and OT In-charge to ensure surgeries run smoothly and safely.

Surgical Assistance (Major & Minor OT)

• Assist Ophthalmologists during surgeries (Cataract/Phaco, DCR, Pterygium, etc.).
• Prepare the surgical trolley with the correct sterile instruments and consumables before every case.
• Ensure the Phaco machine, microscope, and foot pedals are positioned correctly for the surgeon.
• Receive patients, assist in shifting them to the OT table, and help with positioning/draping.

Sterilization & Hygiene

• Instrument Care: Properly wash, clean, and dry delicate eye instruments after surgery.
• Autoclaving: Operate the autoclave machine to sterilize sets and maintain the sterilization register.
• Cleaning: Perform daily cleaning and fumigation of the OT premises to maintain 100% sterility.
• Waste Management: Properly dispose of biomedical waste (needles, blades, swabs) according to safety rules.

Eye Camp Duties

• Travel with the medical team to Eye Camps outside the hospital.
• Assist in setting up temporary OT stations and screening areas.
• Help manage patient flow and basic dressing during camps.
