Education:
    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
  • MBBS degree from a recognized medical college with an updated BMDC registration certificate.

  • Valid BMDC registration number.

  • At least 2 years of work experience in clinics and public health settings.

Competencies and Additional Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have the following competencies:

  • Strong practical experience in patient management and knowledge of referral systems.

  • Proficiency in managing medical stores.

  • Experience in managing health programs or projects at both the Dhaka and field levels.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills.

  • Background in health or public health professions.

  • Preferably, an in-depth understanding of or experience with the Red Cross/Red Crescent movement.

  • Competence in monitoring, assessing, reviewing, and managing health services, including vaccination, drug availability, and medical equipment.

  • Strong capacity for monitoring and evaluation.

  • Proficiency in preparing daily, monthly, and quarterly reports.

  • Language skills: Fluent in Bangla and English (both spoken and written).

  • Honest and high level of integrity.

Responsibilities & Context:

Red Cross - Red Crescent movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President`s Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971. This is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to vulnerable people over the last 53 years and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building and in promoting Red Cross/ Red Crescent ideals and principles.

Currently Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is looking for a suitable Bangladeshi national for the mentioned position:

Reporting to: Director, Health Department.

Duration of Contract: Upto 31 December 2025.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Respond to medical/health problems presented by patients in the outdoor clinic of BDRCS, NHQ, including history taking, diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and referral as appropriate.

  • Lead health teams during any health emergency and disaster.

  • Plan emergency responses for the department.

  • Perform medical examinations and issue fitness certificates at the time of recruitment.

  • Maintain confidentiality and impartiality in all dealings.

  • Organize preventative medical programs for individual patients.

  • Have basic proficiency in maintaining patients` records using specific software packages.

  • Stay updated with medical advancements, new drugs, treatments, and medications, including complementary medicine.

  • Assist in building the capacity of staff working on the NCD project and volunteers, as required.

  • Participate in supervision and monitoring activities to evaluate MCH centers related to the NCD project.

  • Ensure the improvement of care for non-communicable diseases, family planning, nutritional screening, psychological first aid, and emergency responses during disasters, illness outbreaks, epidemics, and pandemics.

  • Implement, supervise, and monitor MCH center activities as per the Director of Health`s instructions.

  • Organize preventative health programs as instructed.

  • Support the capacity-building of staff as needed.

  • Ensure the efficient operation of health facilities like MCH centers and hospitals, maximizing available resources.

  • Promote formal consultations and other engagement activities to enhance local health services.

  • Lead the development of vision and goals while effectively engaging practice staff.

  • Conduct regular informational and participatory team meetings.

  • Perform logistical tasks related to training, workshops, camps, and similar activities.

  • Participate in designing or revising training programs as needed.

  • Analyze the effectiveness of implemented systems and provide recommendations for improvement in local contexts.

  • Attend relevant health meetings and conduct meetings with IFRC and PNSs to better analyze health needs.

  • Monitor the stock of medical items and prepare orders in collaboration with the line manager.

  • Analyze data and contribute to internal reporting and activity programming as part of planning and monitoring exercises.

  • Prepare detailed and timely reports and statistics (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly) for supervisors.

  • Provide translation assistance for delegates or colleagues during field trips and meetings, as well as translating relevant documents and texts as necessary.



Job Other Benifits:

    Monthly Salary Range: Upto BDT. 60,000 (consolidated).
