Medical Officer ( IPD, Ward, Cabin, Dialysis, ICU, NICU, PICU, OT, Post-Operative Room, NVD Room, Ultrasound, CT Scan / MRI Room )
Weekly 48 Hours duty, Shifting Roster wise for all MO position.
Patient Assessment: Perform detailed history taking, physical examinations, and document findings for all admitted (IPD) patients within 24 hours of admission.
Ward Rounds: Participate in and complete daily morning, evening, and unscheduled rounds for assigned patients, assessing progress and modifying treatment plans as directed by the Consultant.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed clinical records, case sheets, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols (e.g., JCI/local regulatory standards).
Orders & Investigations: Timely order and follow-up on laboratory, diagnostic, and imaging investigations.
Procedures: Perform minor medical procedures (e.g., cannulation, catheterization, basic suturing, etc.) under the supervision of senior doctors.
Communication: Counsel patients and attendants regarding the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment plan, and discharge instructions.
Triage and Resuscitation: Provide immediate assessment, triage, and rapid stabilization of all emergency patients (medical, surgical, trauma) upon arrival.
Primary Management: Initiate appropriate first-line treatment, pain management, and resuscitation protocols (e.g., BLS/ACLS).
Referral: Ensure prompt referral and handoff of complex cases to the relevant on-call Specialist/Consultant.
24/7 Cover: Provide continuous, in-house medical coverage for critically ill adult patients.
Monitoring: Monitor and manage ventilators, central lines, hemodynamic parameters, and vital functions.
Interventions: Assist or perform critical care procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, and lumbar puncture under supervision.
Documentation: Accurately chart fluid balance, ventilator settings, drug infusions, and clinical changes.
Newborn Care: Provide dedicated care for neonates, including preterm, low birth weight, and critically ill babies.
Monitoring & Support: Monitor vital signs, manage incubators, oxygen therapy, CPAP, and phototherapy units.
Procedures: Assist the Pediatrician/Neonatologist with neonatal procedures (e.g., umbilical line insertion, neonatal resuscitation).
Ultrasound (USG) Support:
Performance (if trained): Perform basic or focused bedside ultrasound examinations (e.g., FAST scan in ER, basic abdominal scans, obstetric dating scans) as per hospital capability and MO competence.
Assistance: Assist the Radiologist/Sonographer during complex procedures or while managing patients during the scan.
Radiology/Imaging Liaison:
Coordination: Coordinate with the Radiology Department to schedule urgent scans (X-ray, CT, MRI, USG).
Interpretation: Provide a preliminary clinical correlation and review of imaging studies with the Radiologist/Consultant to expedite patient management.
Any assign task by Management as Hospital policy.
Other as per Hospital Policy.
