Job Context:
∎ Background : The Market Systems Officer will apply a market systems approach to interact with market actors in the aquaculture sector including feed, seed, producers, trader, processors etc. S/he will identify and engage regional private sector partners who can support the aims of the Activity and are willing to invest in providing high quality aquaculture goods and services to value chain actors. S/he will facilitate sub-grantees to execute the proposed business ideas and activities at field level and collect different information, story, and cases on changes in the market. S/he will also assist the Activity staffs and participate in conducting different studies, assessments, workshops etc. at regional level.
∎ Eligibility, Location and Duration : This position will be based at WorldFish`s country office, 2 positions in Khulna, 2 positions in Jashore and 2 positions in Barisal, Bangladesh with extensive field visit. Interviews are expected to be held in June 2019 and shortlisted candidate will be expected to attend the interview session. The successful candidate should be available to commence in July 2019 for a six (6) months` temporary contract.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Analyze aquaculture market system, identifies market actors, identifies challenges and opportunities, and assist to design appropriate market driven interventions.
∎ Develop a detailed inventory of contacts in regional private sector companies and other relevant stakeholders and build relationships with private companies and other relevant stakeholders serving value chain actors in the Zone of Influence (ZOI).
∎ Facilitate sub-grantees to execute the proposed business ideas and activities at field level for successful implementation of the designed interventions at field level.
∎ Monitor the market system changes and collect different information, story, cases on changes in the market.
∎ Assist the Activity staffs and participate in conducting different studies, assessments, workshops etc. at regional level.
Additional Requirements:
∎ This job is open to Bangladesh Nationals with the following skills and qualifications:
∎ At least 2-3 years' experience, knowledge and skills in market systems and enterprise development and/or in the aquaculture sector.
∎ Experience in working in/with private sector and development organizations.
∎ Competent in Activity planning, facilitation of implementation, monitoring of activities.
∎ Experience in data collection, event organizing and management, collect field observation and documentation.
∎ Strong team building and interpersonal communication skills to build network among stakeholders.
∎ Desired Skills and Qualification:
∎ Record of positive outcomes applying market systems approach will be an added advantage.
∎ A positive and can-do attitude towards tasks beyond the job description.
∎ Natural interest in making visits to field, partner organizations and associated stakeholders.
Salary:
∎ Salary and Benefits : This is a six (6) months temporary position for six successful candidates with salary ranging between BDT 45,000 to BDT 50,000 per month. WorldFish`s temporary staff shall receive comprehensive benefits including (but not limited to) paid annual leave, and insurance coverage for staff.
