Job Context:
∎ The Market Systems Specialist will assist the Senior Market Systems Specialists and as they apply a market systems approach to development of the aquaculture sector in Feed the Future`s Zone of Influence (ZOI). The Market Systems Specialist identify and engage a range of private sector actors to gather information about market activity, challenges to growth, and potential solutions.
∎ The Market Systems Specialist will play an important role in oversight of Bangladesh Aquaculture & Nutrition Activity (BANA) sub-grant activity. This role will include significant monitoring of program activity and all aspects of sub-grant agreement compliance. This will include advising sub-grantees as needed on a range of commercial matters as well as ensuring prompt, accurate, and complete financial and narrative reporting a part of BANA`s grant management team. The Market Systems Specialist will also collect information for BANA`s MEL needs, stories for communication pieces, and case studies for market systems learning.
∎ Among the four position, one (1) will be based at WorldFish`s Country Office in Khulna, two (2) in Jashore and one (1) in Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh. Interviews are expected to be held in December 2019 and only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview. The successful candidate should be available to commence as soon as possible for an initial three (3) years fixed term contract, with the possibility of contract renewal depending on performance and funding availability.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop a detailed inventory of contacts in regional private sector companies and other relevant stakeholders and build relationships with private companies and other relevant stakeholders serving value chain actors in the zone of influence (ZOI).
∎ Facilitate, monitor and provide feed-back for successful implementation of the designed interventions at field level.
∎ Provide capacity building support to businesses for efficient grant management and compliance with activity and WorldFish procedures.
∎ Improves and adapts program design through internal and external collaboration and learning.
∎ Arrange & facilitate different events at regional level.
∎ Assist the MEL/CLA teams with development and uses of different MEL tools, collection of data on project results etc.
∎ Coordinate with the public sector, public-private institutions, Feed the Future (FTF) partners and associated stakeholders in zone of influence (ZOI).
∎ Collects stakeholder reports, generate reports, case studies and other communications as necessary.
