Position Description & Responsibilities:

BAIUST solicits applications for the post of Lab Technician (Physics) under the Dept. of Sc & Hum. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Possessing sound knowledge of all practical experiments related to the undergraduate program in Physics.

• Providing technical support and guidance to students during practical/laboratory sessions.

• Assisting faculty members in conducting practical classes, preparing laboratory reports, and conducting practical examinations.

• Ensuring proper installation, maintenance, calibration, and utilization of laboratory equipment, instruments, and experimental apparatus.

• Maintaining inventory of laboratory equipment, chemicals, instruments, and other resources while ensuring their proper storage, safety, cleanliness, and security.

• Supporting faculty members and students in setting up experiments, preparing laboratory manuals, and maintaining technical documentation as per curriculum requirements.

• Rendering assistance in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to laboratory equipment, instruments, and experimental setups.

• Ensuring compliance with laboratory safety procedures and taking necessary precautions during practical experiments and handling of laboratory equipment and materials.

• Maintaining proper records of laboratory equipment, experiment schedules, usage, maintenance, and related activities.

• Assisting in the procurement, inspection, installation, and testing of new laboratory equipment and experimental materials.

• Any other duties assigned by the University Authority.

• Salary: As per University Policy (Lab Technician - Grade 11).
