Role Overview

The kitchen assistant cum waiter will play a dual role, supporting both kitchen operations and customer service at Café Mira. This position requires someone energetic, responsible, and willing to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

In the kitchen, the role involves assisting with basic food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring smooth coordination with the chef. On the service side, the individual will interact with customers, take orders, serve food, and help create a welcoming café experience.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, teamwork, and learning the overall workflow of a café—from kitchen support to front-end service.

Current students are also encouraged to apply for part-time positions, provided they are available during peak café hours and can maintain a consistent schedule.

Key Responsibilities

1. Kitchen Support

• Assist in basic food preparation (cutting, cleaning, arranging ingredients)

• Support chefs/kitchen staff in daily operations

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen areas

• Wash utensils, dishes, and kitchen tools when required

• Ensure proper storage of food items and supplies

2. Service & Waiting

• Take customer orders politely and accurately

• Serve food and beverages to customers

• Clear tables and maintain the cleanliness of the dining area

• Ensure a welcoming and friendly customer experience

• Handle basic customer queries with a positive attitude

3. Cleanliness & Hygiene

• Maintain overall cleanliness of café (tables, floors, counters)

• Follow food safety and hygiene standards

• Ensure proper waste disposal and organisation

4. General Support

• Assist in opening and closing café procedures

• Support team during busy hours and peak time

• Coordinate with the kitchen and service team for smooth operation

Requirements

• Minimum education: SSC / HSC

• Prior experience in a café/restaurant is a plus (freshers can apply)

• Physically active and able to work under pressure

• Polite, well-mannered, and customer-friendly

• Basic communication skills (Bangla required)

• Willingness to learn and work in a team

Working Hours

• Full-time / Part-time (based on availability)

• Shift-based schedule, including weekends and peak hours
