Job Context:
∎ Background:
∎ Working with the Artemia4Bangladesh project team, Junior Research Assistant will assist to implement activities to establish and disseminate integrated salt, Artemia and Aquaculture to increase food and nutrition security of salt/fish farmers.
∎ Eligibility, Location and Duration:
∎ This position will be based at WorldFish`s Office in Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh. Interviews are expected to be held in April 2020 and only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview. The successful candidate should be available to commence on May 2020 for an initial three (3) years fixed term contract, with the possibility of contract renewal depending on performance and funding availability.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide support in field activities, research work in the working area through coordination with Research Associates and Research Assistants.
∎ Guide target community/stakeholders with clear information regarding process and results for active participation in the project activities.
∎ Assist to prepare work plans and targets, progress reports (monthly, quarterly, annual), assist scientific publications.
∎ Collect required research and monitoring and evaluation data (both qualitative and quantitative), ensure data quality, assist in analysis.
∎ Assist to organize training/ workshop/ seminar in the working area.
∎ Work closely with the stakeholders/ partners, provide technical assistance to set up demonstration farms for Artemia cyst and biomass, and aquaculture of saline tolerant species in the salt farms.
∎ Support to provide technical assistance to increase aquaculture production and productivity through locally produced Artemia cyst and biomass.
∎ Assist in enhancing marine aquaculture technologies such as shrimp, crab, marine fish production.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Candidates with experience in research / survey work, private sector, community discussion, and data collection, organize meeting/ workshop/ seminar, writing meeting minutes, reports in Aquaculture/ fisheries or related areas will be preferred.
∎ One year or more experience in relevant activities is preferred.
∎ Ability and willingness to travel in remote areas with locally available transportation. Willing and able to travel by motorcycle with valid driving license.
∎ Computer literacy in standard MS Office programs, data analysis, prepare presentations.
∎ Fluency in spoken and written English.
∎ Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
∎ Ability to both in work, assist team, and manage field.

Salary:
∎ This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position with annual salary ranging between BDT 464,836 - BDT 523,177 per annum.
