Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Work closely with the accountant to record all financial transactions with proper approval process.
∎ Prepare monthly reporting package, and financial position and variance explanations.
∎ Prepare monthly forecast updates, primarily by working closely with the Partners, Principal, Admin and others in charge of forecasting their department’s overheads.
∎ Prepare and review annual audit work papers & the six-month review work papers for external Auditors.
∎ Review bank reconciliations, loan schedules, management fees, etc.
∎ Prepare or review the Business License, personal property tax and other government forms.
∎ Assist the Managing Partner in preparing the annual corporate budgets.
∎ Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
∎ Coordinate and direct the budget preparation and financial forecasts and report variances.
∎ Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
∎ Organize monthly management meetings and present reports on forecasts and findings.
∎ Support month-end and year-end close process.
∎ Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
∎ Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
∎ Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
∎ Attend school programs and help colleagues manage events.
∎ BBA or Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting. Masters in Accounting or Finance will get preference.
∎ Graduates from Dhaka University, North South, East West, IUB, BRAC or other well-known university will get preference.
∎ 3 to 5 years experience in full-cycle accounting and finance in a corporate environment or an accounting firm.
∎ Must have experience with accounting software (i.e. Quickbooks).
∎ Experience working with MS-Office365 and G-Suite.
∎ Advanced user of MS-Excel (i.e. Pivot Table, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Filters, Charts, Macros, Data Visualization, Data Validation, Excel Formulas).
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following business areas - Audit Firms /Tax Consultant, Financial Consultants, Financial Technology (Fintech) Startup.
∎ Age 28 to 40 years
∎ Proven working experience as a Controller or Finance Officer.
∎ An advanced degree in Finance / Accounting will be an advantage.
∎ Thorough knowledge of PLC accounting principles and procedures.
∎ Experience with creating financial statements.
∎ Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
∎ Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.Good English Communication skills.
∎ Excellent collaborative work environment.
∎ Enjoy up to 3 months of annual holidays (including government holidays).
∎ Short work week. Typically 8am - 2pm. Although some after-hours maybe needed depending on the school year.
