Key Responsibilities
Content research and scripting: Research, mapping, develop and write video scripts, concept notes and storyboards on service information, entitlements, protection risks and seasonal preparedness, translating technical and policy information into simple, accurate and actionable language for low-literacy audiences.
Filming and field production: Plan and carry out field and studio filming, including camera setup, framing, lighting and sound recording, and manage informed consent, safeguarding and dignified representation throughout every shoot involving community members.
Video editing: Edit raw footage into finished videos using industry-standard software, including assembly and cutting, color correction, audio mixing and clean-up, voice-over synchronization, subtitling and exporting to the correct specification for each channel. This is the principal day-to-day function of the role.
Motion graphics and animation: Produce motion graphics, animated explainers, titles, maps, infographics and simple two-dimensional animation to support visual comprehension where filmed footage alone is not sufficient.
Multi-format adaptation: Version and adapt content for Facebook, the InfoSheba website, Information Corner screens and offline distribution, applying the correct aspect ratio, duration, captioning and sound-off viewing considerations for each platform.
Production planning: Maintain the video content calendar and production pipeline with the Editorial Manager, tracking each product from ideation through scripting, filming, editing, review and publication, and flagging delays early.
Editorial accuracy and approvals: Verify all content against IRC-approved articles, service mapping and sector guidance, and ensure every product is cleared through editorial review and, where required, protection and communications sign-off before publication.
Asset and archive management: Maintain an organized archive of raw footage, project files, graphics templates, licensed music and consent records, applying consistent file naming, version control and backup practices.
Performance review: Monitor video performance data such as reach, watch time and engagement alongside community feedback, and use the findings to improve formats, length, language and visual approach.
Capacity building: Coach Information Corner facilitators and field staff on basic mobile filming, audio capture and content collection so that community-level material can feed into the production pipeline.
Frontline information support: Respond to a share of user questions received through InfoSheba digital channels and Information Corners using the digital platform and Communication with Communities guidelines and follow protocol to escalate any communication from vulnerable cases to Protection Specialists.

Experience (Including sector/industry):
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in video production, video editing, digital content creation or multimedia journalism.
Experience working with refugees or displaced people, or in a protection, humanitarian or development setting, is strongly preferred.
A portfolio of previously produced and edited video work must be submitted with the application.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
Strong hands-on video editing skills with demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or equivalent professional editing software, including audio editing and export management. (Essential)
Practical motion graphics and animation skills, using Adobe After Effects or equivalent, to produce explainer graphics, titles and simple animation. (Essential)
Proven scriptwriting and storytelling ability in Bangla, with the judgement to turn complex service, legal and protection information into short, clear and accurate messages. (Essential)
Competence in camera and audio operation, including DSLR or mirrorless cameras, lavalier and shotgun microphones, and basic lighting setups in field conditions. (Essential)
Ability to produce accurate subtitles and captions, with sound handling of Bangla typography and fonts on screen. (Essential)
An understanding of the power and importance of accurate information and the ability to exercise excellent judgement in ensuring all content is accurate, verified and approved before publication.
Strong working understanding of safeguarding, informed consent, data protection and dignity, do-no-harm representation of affected people in visual content.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the proven ability to manage several productions at once, prioritize and deliver on deadlines.
Strong analytic problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a dynamic, cross-functional team.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and a great teammate.
Fantastic attention to detail, particularly in checking facts, names, figures, subtitles and final exports.
Graphic design and photography skills using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva or equivalent. (Desirable)
Familiarity with social media publishing and analytics, and with producing content optimized for Facebook and mobile-first, low-bandwidth audiences. (Desirable)
Strong computer proficiency and comfort with standard software tools, able to navigate autonomously in Windows, Android, Microsoft Office suite, Google Workspace and cloud-based file management and backup.

Language preference
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Bengali, with the ability to script, subtitle and quality-check content in Bangla.
People who have sound knowledge in Chittagonian dialect and culture will get preference, and working knowledge of the Rohingya language is an added advantage for scripting and voice-over work.
Specific Educational Qualification
Bachelor`s degree in media, journalism, film and television production, communication, social work or a related field, or equivalent advanced technical knowledge and demonstrated professional experience in video production.
