Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Lead and manage the entire product development lifecycle from concept to production.
∎ Translate market trends and customer feedback into commercially viable furniture designs.
∎ Set and enforce design standards, brand identity, and aesthetics.
∎ Supervise and mentor the product design team.
∎ Allocate tasks and review outputs of designers, engineers, and prototype developers.
∎ Provide training and development plans for design staff.
∎ Initiate and approve new product ideas and revisions of existing designs.
∎ Ensure ergonomics, sustainability, material selection, and cost-efficiency in all products.
∎ Coordinate sampling, prototyping, and performance testing.
∎ Work closely with marketing, production, sales, and procurement departments to ensure product feasibility and alignment with customer demand.
∎ Approve final designs before handover to production and ensure design-to-manufacturing continuity.
∎ Develop SOPs and process workflows for product design and development.
∎ Maintain and approve technical drawings, BOMs, and design documentation.
∎ Lead product design reviews and post-launch evaluations.
∎ Stay updated on local and international design trends.
∎ Travel for exhibitions, vendor sourcing, and benchmarking against competitors.
