Experience:
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, costing, materials and joinery techniques.

Experience in furniture or interior design industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Excellent understanding of materials (wood, metal, upholstery), joinery, and ergonomics.
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Experience working with factory production teams and prototype units is essential.

Candidates who have Experience in Group of Company & Factory base working experience will get preference.
The Head of Design will lead the Research & Development Department for Hatim Furniture, driving innovation, efficiency, and design excellence across all furniture categories. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of furniture materials and production processes, and the creative vision to build designs that align with market trends and Hatim’s brand identity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Strategy:
Lead and manage the Furniture Research & Design team, including designers, product developers, and prototype staff.
Set annual design objectives aligned with company goals and market demand.
Develop design roadmaps for new product collections and seasonal launches.
Foster a creative culture that balances innovation with manufacturability.
2. Design Development:
Oversee concept ideation, prototyping, and product finalization stages.
Approve all furniture design concepts before sampling or mass production.
Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines, quality, and cost parameters.
Coordinate closely with production teams for technical feasibility and efficiency.
3. Market Research & Innovation:
Stay updated with global furniture design trends, materials, and technologies.
Conduct competitor benchmarking and identify product gaps.
Collaborate with procurement and R&D for new material exploration and sustainability initiatives.
4. Team Management & Training:
Mentor design team members through regular workshops and training sessions.
Implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure designer productivity and creativity.
Evaluate staff performance and recommend promotions, rewards, or retraining.
5. Cross-Departmental Coordination:
Work closely with Marketing to translate design ideas into promotional material.
Support Sales teams with design presentations and product catalogs.
Coordinate with factory management to ensure timely prototype delivery.
6. Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain a digital design archive and version control system.
Submit weekly progress reports and monthly innovation summaries to top management.
Ensure all designs and samples are properly coded and documented in ERP/Drive systems.
