Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a recognized public university of Bangladesh.
A Master’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field is highly preferred.
Technical & Experience Qualification:
Minimum 20-25 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, with at least 5-8 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Head of Construction, Senior Project Director) directly managing multiple large-scale projects.
Proven track record of successfully leading the construction of multiple high-rise (15+ floors) reinforced concrete (RCC) apartment buildings in Bangladesh from ground-breaking to handover.
In-depth knowledge of the Bangladeshi National Building Code (BNBC), RAJUK, and other local city corporation regulations and approval processes.
Expert-level proficiency in modern project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and a strong advocate for construction technology (BIM, project management ERP systems).
Extensive experience in vendor and contractor management, negotiations, and procurement.
Must be fluent in Bengali and have excellent command of English.

Position Overview
The Director of Construction will be the driving force behind all construction activities of the company. You will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, management, and successful completion of multiple high-rise apartment projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will provide strategic direction to the entire construction team, including project managers, engineers, and site supervisors.
Key Responsibilities & Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
Strategic Leadership & Planning:
Develop and implement the overall construction strategy and operational plans in alignment with the company's business objectives.
Lead the pre-construction planning process, including detailed analysis of project feasibility, design documents, and resource requirements.
Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the construction department.
Project Management & Execution:
Provide overarching leadership and guidance to Project Managers for all ongoing projects.
Monitor and control project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation across all sites.
Implement robust project management and reporting systems (e.g., ERP, Primavera P6, MS Project) to track progress and identify potential risks early.
Ensure strict adherence to project timelines, taking corrective action immediately for any delays.
Technical Excellence & Quality Assurance:
Champion the adoption of modern construction technologies, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), prefabrication, Mivan technology, and other innovative methods.
Establish and enforce stringent Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) protocols across all project sites.
Ensure all construction practices comply with Bangladeshi National Building Code (BNBC) and other relevant local regulations.
Oversee the technical review of architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and motivate a large, multidisciplinary team of managers, engineers, and staff.
Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, accountability, and safety.
Identify training needs and facilitate skill development programs for the team.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
Prepare and manage the annual departmental budget.
Oversee procurement and negotiation with contractors and suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Implement cost-control measures to prevent budget overruns without compromising on quality.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
Serve as the ultimate champion for a zero-accident culture.
Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on every site.
Regularly conduct and chair safety audit meetings.
Stakeholder Management:
Act as the primary technical representative for construction in meetings with clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and internal senior management.
Prepare and present detailed progress reports to the Board of Directors.
