Job Responsibilities:
∎ Advise on, and develop strategies to address, gender in Village Courts and local justice mechanisms in CHT, in consultation with Programme Specialist and National Project Coordinator;
∎ Support and provide input to all areas of project activity such as, legal review, communication and outreach and capacity development for ensuring gender sensitivity;
∎ Carry on activities to achieve gender-specific targets as per the project document and Results Framework;
∎ Collect gender disaggregated data for the results based reporting system;
∎ Develop plans to support Women's Development Forum as a mechanism to increase women's participation in, and awareness of, Village Courts;
∎ Gather data and lessons learned relating to interventions in the UPs where the UP Chair is a woman;
∎ Manage and monitor field level implementation, outputs and results generation as per the ProDoc;
∎ Carry out/ oversee gender-related research initiatives;
∎ Produce high-quality analysis and advocacy documents for the project on gender issues as required;
∎ Attend Gender Focal Point Meeting convened by UNDP Country Office on behalf of AVCB Project;
∎ Draft and compile progress and impact reports, project and programme documents and proposals and track the results monitoring and reporting;
∎ Undertake self-driven initiative for increasing visibility of the project with regard to women and village courts;
∎ Providing contextual background for policy advisory papers and briefing notes including research and analysis of data collecting field level quality data;
∎ Provide the project with all relevant information and support to assist the Country Office with gender-related case statistics and success stories collected from fields;
∎ Provide necessary support to short-term consultants to ensure their delivery of their tasks as and when required;
∎ Spend at least 30% of his/her time in field, ensuring implementation is as per the work plan and targets and quality assurance of those interventions;
∎ Ensure regular support, follow-up, and monitoring of the planning, development, and implementation of project activities on gender issues;
∎ Provide necessary support to manage training programmes, conferences and workshop/seminars at national and local level;
∎ Provide input into IEC materials to ensure that gender aspects are mainstreamed throughout all AVCB initiatives;
∎ Any other relevant tasks that may emerge as important in the course of this assignment and which deems to be appropriate for the National Project Coordinator//National Project Director.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum seven (07) years of professional experience as an Adviser on gender including at least three (03) years focused on access to justice, conflict mitigation, legal aid or other relevant area/s;
∎ Substantial experience, providing policy and programme support to international organizations, or government is required;
∎ Demonstrated experience in developing or reviewing advocacy and communications materials on gender;
∎ Experience in research and analysis is an advantage;
∎ Experience of gathering meaningful data on the impact of gender policies is highly desirable;
∎ Experience working with UN/UNDP or international donor-supported programmes is desirable;
∎ Experience with computers and office software packages;
∎ Demonstrated capacity to design and implement training;
∎ The candidate must have excellent written and verbal skills in English and Bangla.
∎ The cndidate must know Bangla typing.
