Job Context:
∎ Background : The incumbent is responsible to lead and guide the Feed the Future Bangladesh Aquaculture Activity team to ensure gender and youth considerations are being integrated into overall program objectives and activities. S/he is responsible for ensuring achievement of set outputs and outcomes for the project that align with the CGIAR Research Program (CRP) on Fish Agri-Food Systems (FISH) from Bangladesh.
∎ Eligibility, Location and Duration : This position will be based at WorldFish`s Office in Khulna/Jashore/Dhaka, Bangladesh. Interviews are expected to be held in June 2019. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview. The successful candidate should be available to commence by July 2019 for an initial one (1) year and eight (8) months fixed term contract, with the possibility of contract renewal depending on performance and funding availability.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Design and implement pro-poor gender and youth responsive as well as transformative strategies, activities and outcome assessments for the Activity.
∎ Responsible for integrating gender and youth into technical and bio physical interventions to ensure appropriate targeting of women and youth with technologies and interventions that are designed feasibly for them and gender sensitive indicators are used to assess both positive and unintended negative outcomes from the intervention in sex and age dis-aggregated manner.
∎ Design and test technology extension methods using a gender transformative approach with the private sector(e.g. local service providers) and study the impacts on empowerment indicators, adoption and gender attitudes.
∎ Lead as well as participate in designing and conducting social science gender and youth related studies, and outcome assessment with Activity teams and with support from the private sector.
∎ Lead and participate in designing gender and youth responsive value chain initiatives with the private sector as well as creating and building women and youth entrepreneurs in suitable avenues.
∎ Design, conduct and analyse both quantitative and qualitative surveys, assessments and studies on gender, youth and social issues, so as to influence policy and decision making.
∎ Responsible for gender and youth capacity building and support institutional change around gendered attitudes and behaviour.
∎ Coordinate with market system team and nutrition team to build gender, youth and nutrition media campaigns and role models for behaviour and attitude change.
∎ Advise projects and M&E teams in how to put in place effective monitoring and evaluation indicators and processes for gender and youth.
∎ Be actively involved in the Bangladesh National Gender Working Group, where ideas on gender a value chain are exchanged and learning between projects shared.
∎ Write scientific papers, journal articles, working papers, briefs and reports from study results and present in various forums.
Additional Requirements:
∎ This job is open to Bangladesh Nationals with the following skills and qualifications:
∎ Minimum five (5) years' experience working on gender in research in development in agriculture sector.
∎ Proven project management skills including project development and report writing.
∎ Demonstrated experience and technical knowledge in gender and youth development, particularly related to food security, aquaculture market systems, climate change and nutritional integrated aquaculture.
∎ Experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methods, as well as conducting field based assessments.
∎ Excellent writing skills for proposals, reports, and papers.
∎ Ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
∎ Desired Skills and Qualification:
∎ PhD in Women's, Gender or Youth Studies.
∎ Experience working in the field of aquaculture.
∎ Experience in gender, youth responsive program and market system/ value chains.
∎ Excellent analytical and technical skills and expertise with the ability to work independently.
∎ Strong interpersonal and team skills, with the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Salary:
∎ Salary and Benefits This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position with annual salary ranging between BDT 1,273,970 to BDT 1,433,865 per annum. WorldFish`s NRS shall receive comprehensive benefits including (but not limited to) insurance coverage for staff and eligible dependents, and pension/ provident fund contribution.
