Experience:

Hands-on skill in firefighting equipment operation and maintenance
Ability to conduct risk assessment and safety audits independently

Ability to train and guide staff on safety procedures
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Khokon Memorial Hospital, an expansion of M&J Group, is currently seeking applications from qualified and motivated individuals for the position of Fire & Safety Officer.
Job Context: As per Bangladesh Labour Act 2006 (Section 72 & 73), Fire Prevention & Extinguishing Act 2003, and BNBC 2020 Chapter 4, appointment of a qualified Fire & Safety Officer is mandatory for all establishments of 25 or more workers. KMH, being a healthcare facility with multiple floors, OT, ICU, Laboratory, and Emergency Department, is legally and operationally required to maintain a dedicated Fire & Safety Officer to ensure compliance with DIFE, FSCD, and NABH/JCI safety standards, minimize fire risk, and protect patients, staff, and assets.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor Fire & Safety policies, SOPs, and emergency response plans for KMH.
Conduct regular fire risk assessments, safety audits, and hazard identification across all hospital departments.
Ensure compliance with FSCD (Fire Service & Civil Defense), DIFE (Dept. of Inspection for Factories & Establishments), Bangladesh Labor Act 2006, and BNBC 2020.
Plan and execute fire drills, evacuation exercises, and safety training for all hospital staff.
Inspect, maintain, and record all firefighting equipment including extinguishers, hydrants, alarm systems, sprinklers, and emergency lighting.
Investigate fire incidents, near-misses, and accidents; prepare detailed investigation reports and corrective action plans.
Maintain all HSE registers, logs, permits-to-work, and safety signage across the hospital premises.
Coordinate with OT, ICU, Emergency, and Engineering departments for safety compliance during critical operations.
Liaise with external regulatory bodies (FSCD, DIFE, Civil Defense) and assist during inspections and audits.
Prepare monthly/quarterly HSE reports and present to hospital management.
