Responsibilities & Context:
Design and review fire protection, fire detection and life safety systems, including fire alarms, automatic sprinkler systems, hydrants, gas suppression, smoke management, and emergency lighting.
Conduct fire risk assessments, hazard identification, and life safety evaluations for new and existing facilities.
Ensure compliance with NFPA, FM Global, BS, IFC, IBC, local fire codes, and applicable statutory regulations.
Review engineering drawings, specifications and drawings to verify compliance with fire protection standards.
Coordinate with Civilis, MEP engineers, contractors, consultants, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) throughout project execution.
Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, inspection, and preventive maintenance of fire protection and detection systems.
Develop fire safety strategies, emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and business continuity measures.
Conduct fire drills, emergency response training, and fire safety awareness programs for employees and stakeholders.
Investigate fire incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Prepare technical reports, fire safety documentation, compliance records, inspection reports, and audit findings.
Support internal and external fire safety audits and ensure timely closure of observations.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure work is executed in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
Recommend system upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fire safety and operational reliability.
Stay updated with emerging fire engineering technologies, industry standards, and regulatory changes.
