• Cross-Platform Storytelling: Adapt online features for digital deep-dives.

• Legal & Compliance Acuity: Navigate Bangladesh’s Digital Security Act and Press laws confidently.

• Analytics-Driven Editing: Use reader data (Google Analytics, circulation reports) to shape content.

1. Purpose Of The Position

Drive editorial excellence and audience growth for print features, ensuring brand authority, cross-platform content synergy, and measurable reader engagement across Bangladesh’s competitive media landscape.

2. Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Conceptualize and execute high-impact feature stories that elevate brand prestige and readership.

• Lead the Feature team to deliver online and digital features aligned with broadcast content calendars for maximum synergy.

• Oversee end-to-end production: story ideation, assignment, writing, editing, and proofing before publication.

• Enforce stringent fact-checking, grammar, and stylistic consistency per Akij’s editorial standards.

• Optimize feature placement to drive advertising revenue and sponsored content opportunities.

• Collaborate with the design team to ensure visual storytelling complements written narratives.

• Manage feature budgets, freelancer payments, and contributor contracts within approved limits.

• Monitor reader analytics and adjust feature slants to maximize copy sales and digital referrals.

• Ensure compliance with Bangladesh Press Council regulations and defamation laws.

• Train and mentor junior editors and reporters on narrative techniques and ethical journalism.

• Coordinate with sales to develop branded content that retains editorial integrity.

• Deliver weekly competitive analysis of rival publications’ feature strategies.
