Educational Requirements:
∎ Minimum Bachelor degree in any discipline.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 3 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assisting in selecting, developing, cataloguing and classifying library resources.
∎ Inspecting returned books for condition and due-date status.
∎ Assisting and performing data entry in library database software with proper bibliographic information.
∎ Preparing a combined list of all books with accession numbers & source which were received from different sources.
∎ Creating stock-taking report when any lost materials are found with detail information.
∎ Preparing and assisting in preparing individual and teamwork reports.
∎ Working on online resources with the Librarian/ Assistant Librarian.
∎ Meeting every standard regarding safety and confidentiality of library materials and equipment.
∎ Monitoring library users and overseeing the upkeep of library property.
∎ Implementing and making use of different library software for the implementation of a digital library.
∎ Providing required assistance for the implementation of library events and programs.
∎ Sending out notices and process fine payments for lost or overdue books.
∎ Preparing, storing, and retrieving classification and catalogue information, lecture notes, or other information related to stored documents, using computers.
∎ Establishing membership in professional organizations and attending professional conferences or workshops.
∎ Helping Librarian/ Assistant Librarian/Registrar/department heads to complete daily tasks;
∎ Ensuring operations adhere to policies and regulations & standard work environment;
∎ Managing all types of departmental schedules and deadlines;
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age: 24-30 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply.
∎ Skills required: library administration, cataloguing, IT, library software.
∎ Experience in university sector will be given preference.
∎ Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office is the unavoidable requirement.
∎ Experience in university library administration or similar/relevant field will be given preference.
∎ Strong verbal and written presentation skills
∎ Excellent command on both oral and written in English and Bengali communication skills.
∎ IELTS 7 and above (preferred)
∎ A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
