  • MBBS degree from a recognized medical college

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Anesthesiology (DA) from a recognized institution

  • Registration with Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) is mandatory

  • Experience and other Requirements: Minimum 2 years of work experience in the health sector, preferably in surgery or emergency obstetric care.

  • Experience working in humanitarian or resource-limited settings will be an asset.

Job Responsibilities:

RTMI is seeking a skilled EOC-trained Anaesthesia Doctor to provide safe and effective anaesthetic care for surgical and obstetric procedures at the Government 20-bed Hospital in Bhasanchar. The role requires hands-on expertise in administering anaesthesia, patient monitoring, and contributing to overall surgical care delivery in coordination with hospital staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer appropriate doses of anesthesia and adjust as needed during surgical and obstetric procedures.

  • Evaluate, monitor, and supervise patient care before, during, and after surgery.

  • Assess patients` medical history, medication use, and physical condition to determine the anesthesia plan.

  • Monitor patients’ vital signs continuously throughout procedures, ensuring optimal safety.

  • Collaborate with surgeons, obstetricians, nurses, and other providers to deliver coordinated perioperative care.

  • Respond promptly to emergencies or complications related to anesthesia or surgical interventions.

  • Maintain accurate records of anesthesia type, dosage, patient response, and intraoperative events.

  • Ensure availability and readiness of anesthesia-related medicines, equipment, and supplies at the facility.

  • Keep records of all anesthesia-administered patients and support documentation and reporting systems.

  • Work closely with hospital management and RTMI’s coordination team to ensure quality service delivery.

  • Participate in professional development activities and refresher training as needed.

  • Uphold patient safety, confidentiality, and organizational ethical standards.

  • Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the authority.
