• Experience in transporting food or working in humanitarian programmes is an advantage.

• Skills and Competencies

• Familiarity with the cultural and social context of Bhasanchar or similar locations.

• Ability to work effectively in a team and under challenging conditions.

• Fluency in Bangla language (Rohingya/Chittagonian dialect is highly desirable).

Job Summary

Bhasanchar Camp, Hatiya, Nohakhali.

The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of hot meals from the central kitchen to schools under the school feeding programme in Bhasanchar. The role requires ensuring the proper handling of food containers, maintaining the vehicle in excellent condition, and adhering to safety and hygiene standards during transportation.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Ensure the timely and safe delivery of hot meals from the central kitchen to assigned schools as per the delivery schedule.

• 2. Handle food containers carefully to prevent spillage or contamination during transport.

• 3. Verify and cross-check delivery quantities with kitchen staff and school representatives to ensure accuracy.

• 4. Assist in loading and unloading food containers at the central kitchen and school locations.

• 5. Provide logistical support during emergencies or special events as required.

• 6. Communicate promptly with the logistics team about delivery updates, delays, or challenges during transportation.

• 7. Maintain accurate logs of daily trips, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.

• 8. Collect and return delivery receipts to the logistics team for record-keeping and reconciliation.

• 9. Regularly inspect and maintain the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.

• 10. Perform routine checks on fuel, oil, brakes, tires, and other key components before and after each trip.

• 11. Report any mechanical issues or damages to the Logistics & Transport Coordinator promptly.

• 12. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of passengers, food, and the vehicle.

• 1. Maintain proper hygiene standards within the vehicle, ensuring it is clean and free of contaminants.

• 2. Ensure compliance with food safety guidelines during meal transportation, including temperature control where applicable.

• Coordination and Reporting:

• • Work in close collaboration with the Project Officer, and the school feeding program team to ensure that PSEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse), child protection, and gender considerations are integrated into all activities.

• • Assist in planning and implementing contingency measures during emergencies.
