Job Context:
∎ Under the overall strategic guidance of the Bangladesh Aquaculture and Nutrition Activity (BANA) Chief of Party, the Deputy Chief of Party is responsible for the operation of the Jashore office and its key programmatic and administrative functions. Operations out the Jashore office consume well over a million dollars of the BANA budget each year and its breeding and genetics work is highly visible for both BANA and WorldFish. There is a strong need for leadership in the office in technical, administrative, and financial oversight.
∎ This position will be based at WorldFish`s Country Office in Jashore, Bangladesh. Interviews are expected to be held in December 2019 and only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview. The successful candidate should be available to commence as soon as possible for an initial three (3) years fixed term contract, with the possibility of contract renewal depending on performance and funding availability.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide close oversight of the operational aspects of the BANA's (and WorldFish's) work in the Jashore District.
∎ Actively ensure coordination and integration of the multiple projects and technical areas of WorldFish-Bangladesh in the region.
∎ Provide strong grant management for BANA's sub-grantees and a provide analogous oversight to WorldFish activities funded by BANA in the region.
∎ Lead crowding-in activities in districts around Jashore including design of these activities.
∎ Document and disseminate leanings from all activities-- both WorldFish and partners-- to WorldFish-Bangladesh and HQ.
∎ Provide guidance and problem solving with BANA sub-grantees, the carp GIP program, and the WorldFish HQ team.
∎ Conduct frequent field visits and closely monitor activities.
∎ Oversee office support procedures and recommend changes for providing office support services so as to attain increased efficiency and effectiveness.

Additional Requirements:
∎ This job is open to Bangladesh Nationals with the following skills and qualifications:
∎ Minimum 15 years' experience in managing complex public-private sector and/or aquaculture, agricultural or organizational development programs, preferably within an international development context.
∎ Basic understanding of market system approach, interventions, opportunities and challenges in the development sector.
∎ Intellectual leadership, team enabling capability and accountability for deliverables.
∎ Coordinating capacity with WorldFish technical, administrative and finance services including communications, information technology and human resources.
∎ Knowledge of Feed the Future and USAID regulations, administration, management, reporting procedures and systems.
∎ Ensure the staff capacity development is achieved and are operating at maximum efficiency.
∎ Strong interpersonal skills with extensive evidence of ability to productively engage a wide range of private sector or development organizations in Bangladesh.
∎ Ability to create an enabling environment allowing teams to participate, counsel, contribute, innovate and learn to produce results.
∎ Ability to appropriately identify challenges, recognize underlying causes and resolve conflicts efficiently.
