Job Context:
∎ As the compliance head and subject matter expert, the Country Compliance Manager (CCM) is responsible for establishing standards and implementing procedures to ensure that the compliance programs throughout the Hospitals are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting, and correcting in view of applicable policies, laws, and regulations. The CCM has to ensure that there are effective and efficient policies and procedures in place, well understood and respected by all caregivers, and that the Hospitals are complying with all compliance requirements.
∎ The position operationally reports to CEO & MD of Evercare Hospitals, Bangladesh and functionally reporting to General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer & Head of Impact of Evercare Group.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop then implement and oversee a robust risk management strategy and program, with corporate governance and anti-corruption at its core, in line with national and international best practice and any additional investor requirements,
∎ Regularly report on the risk management program, incidents/issues and risk mitigation measures including:
∎ a) Conduct periodic business integrity and corporate governance focused risk monitoring of the Company and its operations and report results
∎ b) Business integrity risk assessment and engagement process for engaged third parties, including but not limited to service providers, contractors, joint venture partners, and co-developers
∎ c) Any projects planned or being undertaken by the Company
∎ Business Partnering with stakeholders to help provide technical assistance and screening of expansion opportunities in order to ensure business integrity and risk management is embedded into all decision-making,
∎ Manage investigations of compliance and business integrity issues and support HR with various investigations on company policy violation or issues with regards to respectful workplace,
∎ Maintain all compliance records and registers, such as gifts and conflict registers, and delegated and signing authorities in accordance with company policies and systems,
∎ Implement the whistleblower process and protocols for both internal and external reports, in line with international best practices,
∎ Oversee and continually improve documentation of licensing, permits and approvals, including rationale column in tracker should approvals be delayed.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 30 years
∎ Proven track record and substantial experience of 10-12 years in risk and compliance roles, preferably with multi-national organizations or organizations with foreign investors.
∎ Prior experience in the Bangladesh and/or international healthcare sector will be added advantage.
∎ Strong commitment to integrity, ethics and good governance and be able to demonstrate leadership and drive in promoting integrity and corporate governance standards.
∎ Detailed knowledge of anti-bribery and corruption legislation, conventions, and best practice, including familiarity with the UK Bribery Act and/or the FCPA.
∎ Effective and rigorous risk management skills to make well-reasoned, independent, and transparent decisions with quick turnaround expectations.
∎ Capable of dealing with board, senior management, shareholders and staff with confidence, independence, authority, and assurance.
∎ Self-starter and motivated individual with a pro-active attitude, willing to get involved in all aspects of a new business with a clear mission.
∎ Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships and communicate clearly and effectively at different levels (both internally and externally).
∎ Able to handle sensitive and confidential matters with absolute tact and discretion.
∎ Strong attention to detail with proven administrative and organizational skills.
