Job Context:
∎ Background: Assuring quality of feed and feed ingredients is essential for animal performances as well as consumer food safety. There are several methods for assessing quality. Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) allows the analysis rapidly using near-infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. The feed mills can easily test every batch of ingredients and feed every day without waiting for wet chemistry result. The project likes to assess the market and potential uses of NIRS in feed sector. The objective of this consultancy is to identify opportunities for use of NIRS for testing feed & ingredients.
∎ Location and Duration:
∎ This is open for national consultant only and will be based in Dhaka with extensive field visits. The proposal and other relevant costs will be quoted in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT). The selection of consultant will be based on the relevant qualification and experience, and the most competitive proposal. Please note that 10% advance income tax and 15% VAT will be deducted from your fees as per GOB rules.
∎ The interviews are expected to be held in August 2019 and only shortlisted consultant will be notified and expected to attend the interview. The successful consultant should be available to commence for maximum of twenty five (25) days in between August to September 2019.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Key Responsibilities:
∎ Develop questionnaires for assessment.
∎ Design sample size and areas.
∎ Recruit and manage enumerators for survey.
∎ Survey the target interviewees.
∎ Review the filled questionnaires of enumerators.
∎ Conduct Group meeting and validation workshop.
∎ Deliverables:
∎ Filled questionnaires.
∎ Short summary report.

Additional Requirements:
∎ This job is open to Bangladesh Nationals with the following skills and qualifications:
∎ At least 10 year of experience in fish mills and related areas.
∎ Experience of fish feed market assessment.
∎ Clear understanding about the needs of Bangladesh fish feed sector.
∎ Good network in fish feed sector nationally and internationally.
∎ Good communication skill over Bangla and English.
∎ TIN and VAT Registration number is required.
∎ Availability of Experts: Experts must be available throughout the duration of an assignment. The duration can range from weeks to months. In some cases the assignment can be shortened or extended depending on business needs. Experts maybe required to travel to countries where we work.
