Job Context:
∎ World Fish has led a program to introduce an improved type of carp into the fish farming market system in Bangladesh. These fish has produced via selective breeding in controlled conditions where fish are grown faster than the carp currently produced in fish ponds in Bangladesh. This program has been underway for few years and is now approaching commercialization.
∎ The market system for farm raised carp goes from production of brood stock (the "mother fish"), through growth phases, to fish in consumer markets and back into production and sale of brood stock. Throughout this circular market system, there are distinct commercial markets: the production and sale of fertilized fish eggs, fish spawn, fingerlings, and mature fish as both food and brood stock.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Cost accounting to determine the probable cost to produce the brood stock.
∎ Discuss the cost issues with WorldFish experts in Dhaka and Jashore.
∎ Interview fish farmers (identified by WorldFish) in Jashore district and review the financial information they provide.
∎ Deliverables:
∎ Detailed analysis of the cost factors of producing brood stock and estimated production costs, given the reasonable scenarios of ceteras paribus, optimistic, and pessimistic.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 to 6 years of general accounting experience.
∎ Experience in directly applicable work
∎ VAT and Tax Identification Number (TIN) number is required
∎ Availability of Experts:
∎ Experts must be available throughout the duration of an assignment. The duration can range from weeks to months. In some cases the assignment can be shortened or extended depending on business needs. Experts maybe required to travel to countries where we work.
