Education:
Bachelor’s (honors)/Master`s in Library and Information Science from any reputed University.
Familiarity with library catalog systems (e.g. Integrated Library Systems)
Experience with clerical tasks, data entry.
Proficiency in using computers, including Microsoft Office and Library-specific software.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively patrons of all ages and backgrounds.

Job description/Responsibilities:
Assist patrons with checking in and checking out books and other library materials.
Provides frontline Circulation services to library patrons.
Ensure materials are properly scanned or logged into the library system.
Update and maintain patron accounts, including fines, due dates and missing/lost materials.
Assist patrons with account-related inquiries or issues.
Assists patrons with finding materials and using library resources, such as online library catalog, e-book, e-journal e-magazine, and databases.
Shelf-reads Reserves Collection to ensure materials are shelved in correct call number order according to the Dewey Decimal classification system.
Ensure that library shelves are neat, organized, and accessible to patrons.
Ensure that materials are properly checked out and not taken without being recorded.
Monitor the library space to ensure a safe and quiet environment.
Answer general inquiries and refer complex questions to other library staff.
Prepare new materials for circulation, including tagging, labeling, and entering them into the library system.
Help with regular inventory checks and materials audits.
Report missing or damaged materials to supervisors.
Articulates and interprets Circulation policies and procedures to patrons.
Identifies and retrieves materials from the Reserves Collection for library patrons and reshelves them when returned.
Retrieves books and periodicals from the general circulating stacks, as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
