Responsibilities & Context:

Dept of Paediatrics, IAHS has been accredited for 2 (two) years core training by Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Applications are invited from qualified candidates on an urgent basis for this position in IAHS-H on the following terms and conditions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical services to patients under the care of the department.

  • Ensure round-the-clock (24/7) patient care, including the supervision of emergency and inpatient management.

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of Medical Officers (MOs), Intern Doctors, medical students, and nursing staff.

  • Attend and manage patients in the Outpatient Department (OPD), Emergency Unit, and inpatient wards, assisting senior physicians in diagnosis and treatment.

  • Accompany consultants during clinical rounds, ensuring accurate documentation and implementation of their instructions.

  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of patient care, treatment plans, and clinical progress.

  • Conduct and organize educational activities and training sessions for intern doctors, IMOs/MOs, nursing staff, and clinical students during classes and ward rounds.

  • Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions and promote professional knowledge-sharing.

  • Ensure the presence and punctuality of on-duty physicians, nurses, and support staff according to the official duty roster.

  • Collaborate closely with nursing staff, administrative personnel, and other clinical departments to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.

  • Perform physical exams on patients, including checking for signs of disease, trauma, or other medical conditions.

  • Provide counselling or other psychological services to patients with mental health issues.

  • Maintain records of patient visits and treatment plans in order to track patient progress.

  • Prescribe and interpret appropriate lab tests to gain more information for possible infections or abnormalities.

  • Weekday duty hours: 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

  • Weekday evening duty hours: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

  • Work beyond regular office hours as per instructions from the respective Department Head or the competent authority.
