∎ We`re now looking for the talented and skilful Assistant Producers to help develop and produce audio and multimedia outputs for our Rohingya emergency projects. Working within a small team, the Assistant Producer will help create range of audio and audio-visual contents (fiction and factual) aimed at both Rohingya people and the host community. All the contents will be made in Chittagonian dialect or Rohingya language. The candidate is expected to have experience of writing, research, sound recording, filming, editing, and delivering high quality audio and audio-visual outputs.
∎ Overall purpose:
∎ Reporting to the Producer, Assistant Producer will assist in devising and developing wide range of programmes in different formats and take responsibility to produce allocated packages and programmes within the series, delivering high quality output. S/he will be responsible to prepare detailed workplans with feasible timelines for every stage of the production process including research and pre-production, audio/visual recording, and post-production works. S/he will work within the production team to support the delivery of outputs on time, to budget and in accordance with BBC Media Action`s high creative standards and editorial requirements.
∎ The post is based in Cox`s Bazar, but s/he needs to travel to production locations across the country, as necessary. In general, normal office hours will apply but the nature of the role means that a flexible approach to working time will be necessary.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ In consultation with the producer and other creative staff, provide input and ideas to shape the format and structure of audio/ audio-visual programmes.
∎ Undertaking general desk research and talk to experts/contributors for better understanding of the contents and developing scripts for programmes
∎ To generate creative storytelling ideas and formats, and develop scripts for more effective impact on audiences
∎ To assist with pre-production, filming/recording and post-production for allocated packages or episodes, always working closely with episode directors / producers
∎ Work within the production workflow, ensuring that production tasks take place on time and to the appropriate level of quality.
∎ Liaise regularly with project team and partners to ensure consistency of message and content across the project.
∎ Professionally operate a range of audio- visual equipment to the highest BBC standards.
∎ Ensure that BBC editorial principles and all relevant legal, contractual, and copyright requirements are met through proper sign-off and post-production compliance processes, referring upwards in cases of difficulty or doubt.
∎ To source locations, contributors, and on-screen and production talent; and to manage freelance and casual staff on location
∎ To assist with and support producer/s and visual editors during editing, transcription, and translation
∎ To provide a courteous and knowledgeable first point of contact for a range of people within and outside of the BBC.
∎ To take responsibility for series-wide programme elements, in line with post-holder's skills and experience in specific production areas (e.g., music, graphics, wardrobe, etc.)
∎ Any other duties commensurate with the post as allocated by the line manager.

∎ Proven experience in audio/ audio-visual production, including experience in producing different formats of factual programmes. E
∎ Well-developed creative and technical production skills. E
∎ Strong understanding of gender-related needs and concerns within humanitarian and displacement contexts. E
∎ Ability to research, write, edit, or adapt programme material for the Rohingya/ host community; E
∎ Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to form and maintain effective working relationships at all levels. E
∎ Proven ability to find contributors, interviewees, and experts as well as other sources of material. E
∎ Editorial awareness and ability to apply BBC editorial policy E
∎ Good organisational and time management skills, with the proven ability to prioritize across multiple tasks, work independently and maintain attention to detail. E
