Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Wash Technician is responsible for developing, controlling, and monitoring all washing processes for woven garments to ensure desired quality, shade, hand feel, and performance standards. The role involves coordinating with production, quality, merchandising, and laundry teams to execute wash developments and bulk production efficiently while maintaining cost, quality, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement wash recipes and techniques for woven garments according to buyer requirements and fashion trends.
· Conduct sample wash developments and ensure approval standards for shade, hand feel, appearance, and garment performance before bulk production.
· Monitor and control bulk washing operations by maintaining correct process parameters such as temperature, chemical dosage, machine settings, pH, and washing time.
· Troubleshoot washing-related issues including shade variation, back staining, garment damage, uneven washing, and take corrective actions to minimize rejection and rework.
· Coordinate with merchandising, production, quality, finishing, and chemical suppliers to ensure smooth execution of wash developments and bulk production.
· Ensure garments meet buyer quality standards, testing requirements, and compliance regulations.
· Optimize chemical consumption, washing processes, and production efficiency while maintaining cost-effectiveness and product quality.
· Maintain technical records, wash formulas, SOPs, approvals, and production reports accurately.
· Supervise, guide, and train washing operators and technical staff on wash procedures, quality standards, and workplace safety.
· Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of chemicals and maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations including ETP requirements.
