Experience:

1. Inventory Management & Control
Implement and manage an efficient inventory control system to minimize stock-outs and reduce excess inventory.
Conduct regular physical stock counts, cycle counts, and annual audits, reconciling discrepancies with systematic records.
Monitor inventory levels for critical, high-consumption, and high-value items to ensure constant availability for patient care.
Manage the shelf-life of supplies (e.g., FEFO - First Expired, First Out) to prevent wastage and ensure the use of sterile and effective materials.
Coordinate the return and replacement of expired, recalled or damaged goods.
2. Store Operations & Supply Distribution
Supervise the receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of all hospital supplies and equipment.
Ensure the store is organized, clean, and secure, with proper segregation of different types of items (e.g., sterile, non-sterile, hazardous, pharmaceutical).
Oversee the internal distribution system, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of supplies to various departments like OTs, ICUs, Wards, and Labs.
Manage the hospital's linen store, ensuring adequate supply of clean linen and proper collection of soiled linen.
3. Procurement & Vendor Coordination
Assist the Materials Manager in the procurement process by generating and validating indents and purchase requisitions.
Liaise with vendors for delivery schedules, resolve discrepancies in received orders, and process returns.
Participate in the evaluation of new suppliers and products, focusing on quality, cost, and reliability.
4. Data Management & Reporting
Develop and utilize the Hospital Information System (HIS) to maintain accurate inventory records.
Generate and analyze inventory reports, including consumption patterns, stock levels, turnover ratios, and uselessness reports.
Prepare and present regular reports on store performance, cost-saving initiatives, and critical issues to management.
5. Compliance & Safety
Ensure all store operations comply with regulatory standards from bodies such as JCI or local health authorities.
Maintain strict documentation and traceability for implants, high-value devices, and hazardous materials.
Enforce infection control and safety protocols within the store and distribution areas.
6. Team Leadership & Supervision
Supervise, train, and motivate a team of storekeepers, inventory clerks, and helpers.
Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching for professional development.
Foster a culture of safety, accuracy, and accountability within the team.
