Job Context:
∎ Since 1999 ISD has been providing a first class English Medium International Education to National and Expatriate students on a beautiful purpose built campus.
∎ ISD is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School authorized for the PYP, MYP, DP Programmes. This is a full time position for Art Department.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Able to speak, write and communicate clearly in the English language.
∎ Reasonable knowledge of art and its techniques and methods.
∎ Needs initiative in all areas of classroom management.
∎ Ability to prepare art supplies and set up tools and equipment before lessons by teacher's instructions.
∎ Keep art rooms tidy and organized and keep stock and supplies in good supply. This might mean seeing that an item is running low and prepare a requisition form so the item can be ordered and bought before that item runs out.
∎ Enough computer skills to do simple jobs like running off signs and labels for drawers and cupboards.
∎ Be able to mount pictures and set up art shows and art displays around the school.
∎ Ability to assist teacher in ordering and keeping all art supplies in cupboards and storage areas organized and easily assessable to teachers and students.
∎ Assist the teachers with finding supplies in the local community and able to phone various shops and suppliers to find various art items which can be bought in Dhaka.
∎ Confident enough to be able to phone galleries, university art dept., and such to set up appointments for either visits by art teachers or art field trips for students.
∎ Ability to research in the library or on the Internet for visual aids for an upcoming lesson.
∎ Not be averse to cleaning brushes, paint trays, and various other areas to keep the art rooms clean.
∎ Ability to learn how to load, unload and fire both an electric and gas kiln. This is a definite technical skill which needs a lot of study to master. The T.A. must be able to do this.
∎ Physically strong enough to re-cycle clay and prepare all the glazes, clay, etc. needed for the ceramics section of the curriculum.
∎ Able to meet with the teachers on a weekly basis to be prepared for upcoming lessons and art events. This means able to listen and discuss with teachers and when needed give a viewpoint on what can be done to assist in these activities and events.
∎ Interact with support staff to keep the art rooms cleaned, repaired and upgraded as the case arises.
∎ Enthusiastic about art and confident enough to interact with students when they need help finding art supplies or preparing supplies.
∎ Patience and ability to work alongside students in the lower grades who need a great deal of help and support.
∎ If need able to cover and run the visual Arts classes.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Must have very good communication skill in English Language
Salary:
∎ Tk. 25000 - 50000 (Monthly)
∎ Salary will depend on experience & educational qualification.
