Job Context:
∎ FH Association (a Christian, relief & development organization) wants to fill two (2) Agriculture Technical Facilitator (ATF) positions for its PB Coastal Area Program and therefore, inviting applications from eligible candidates.
∎ Job Summary:
∎ The Agriculture Technical Facilitator (ATF) supports PBC Area Program (communities) by providing technical support to the GOAC funded agriculture project and carrying out related activities and tasks for the region. The ATF ensures that Area and Community Offices can provide quality facilitation support to the target beneficiaries for irrigation improvement and crop diversification. S/he also coordinates with the local department of agriculture to access the government facilities.

∎ Location : Patuakhali- Barguna

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support area programs to target (identify and select) the project beneficiaries through participatory processes with community members;
∎ Manage the distribution of irrigation machineries and agricultural inputs to the selected savings groups;
∎ Provide necessary technical support to the savings group in resolving and troubleshooting any emerging problems and issues on field related to irrigation pump operation, and rice/other high value crops production;
∎ Orient savings groups/pump operation committees on operation, management and maintenance of irrigation pumps;
∎ Provide training to the beneficiaries on crop diversifications as well as on cash crop cultivation;
∎ Coordinate implementation and networking activities with Department of Agriculture and private sectors as required by the organization for ongoing technical support leading to continued innovation and sustainability;
∎ Conduct coordination meeting with local government for sustainable access to inputs and extension services;
∎ Compile and submit regular project reports and updates to the line managers; and
∎ Other Duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2 years related experience in agriculture development and livelihood management contexts, preferably in climate change/saline prone areas;
∎ Direct experience within an INGO or a reputed national NGO.
∎ Knowledge & Competencies:

∎ Excellent people skills including warmth and sensitivity, conversational, ability to relate to and communicate with people from different cultures (at various levels within the organization);

∎ Able to self-manage a diverse and dynamic set of responsibilities, proactively solve problems and / or suggest viable solutions while advancing goals and objectives;
∎ Demonstrated computer operating skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Google platform, and virtual technologies such as Skype and / or GoToMeeting;
∎ Medical fitness to live and travel in rural and urban areas with extreme conditions and limited medical support;
∎ Willingness to travel extensively in the area/locations using own/organization motorcycle or local transport. Valid driving license is a plus.

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ As per organizational pay scale.
