Responsibilities & Context: An Accounts Officer is responsible for overseeing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. They play a crucial role in the financial health of an organization by managing accounting processes, preparing financial statements, and supporting decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Records Management:

  • Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, receipts, and invoices.
  • Ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.

Transaction Processing:

  • Process accounts payable and receivable.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.

Budget Management:

  • Assist in preparing budgets and monitoring expenditures.
  • Provide variance analysis and suggest corrective measures.

Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit reports and liaise with auditors.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws and financial regulations.
  • Handle tax filings and other statutory obligations.

Support to Management:

  • Provide financial data and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and suggest improvements.

Other Duties:

  • Handle payroll processing and employee reimbursements.
  • Address queries from clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
