Educational Requirements:

Job Context:
∎ OVERVIEW: Life for a Child Program (LFAC) is an initiative of Diabetic Association of Bangladesh in collaboration with Diabetes New South Wales Australia (NSW) and International Diabetes Federation (IDF). It is an integrated approach of providing free comprehensive and sustainable healthcare to children with diabetes in Bangladesh. The overall goal of the project is to increase access to diabetes care for children with type 1 diabetes and as such help these children live better lives.
∎ Life for a Child Program of BADAS is currently seeking a full-time capacity TRIAL COORDINATOR for a IN-PERSON for TWO YEARS opportunity to join a global trial in partnership with University of Pittsburgh, Brigham and Women`s Hospital and Life for Child, to conduct a randomized controlled trial comparing insulin glargine, a long-acting analogue insulin, against human insulin among children and adolescents living with Type 1 Diabetes in low resource settings. Further, a qualitative sub-study will be conducted to evaluate the quality of life of this population and provider experiences.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The coordinator will be familiar with all study/trial procedures including both the randomized controlled trial and qualitative sub-study occurring at the local site.
∎ Report directly to the site Principal Investigator.
∎ Manage and supervise the Research Assistant(s).
∎ Work with patients by ensuring a patient is eligible for the study, accommodating travel needs and making sure each patient knows all aspects of the study.
∎ Creating documents for all aspects of the study for both the clinicians and the patients.
∎ Ensure patient safety (e.g., be able to connect participants with appropriate and immediate medical care in case of serious adverse events or emergencies).
∎ Ensure that participant data is collected as per IRB protocol.
∎ Ensure that participant data is stored securely.
∎ Serve as the first point of contact for patients and potential adverse events.
∎ Assist in the preparation of monthly or quarterly trial reports (e.g., recruitment, CGM our outcome measures, protocol deviations/violations, adverse events)
∎ Oversee the training of staff involved with the trial and sub-study

Additional Requirements:
∎ Have experience or training in the management of Type 1 diabetes
∎ Have had prior research experience in healthcare
∎ Complete human subjects research training requirement(s) per the local IRB.
∎ Proficiency in written and spoken English
∎ Desirable Qualifications:
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
∎ Ability to build effective relationships with trial centre staff and colleagues
∎ Ability to motivate trial centre staff
∎ Ability to multitask and attention to detail
∎ Proficient in using word, excel, adobe, or alternative computer software's

Salary: Negotiable

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Reasonable Compensation : Festival bonus(s) which will be equal to one month compensation
