Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Lead end-to-end operations for polyester and nylon melt spinning from chips to filament yarn (POY, DTY, FDY) and PSF.
∎ Supervise machine erection, commissioning and setup for new projects.
∎ Ensure top-tier production quality, consistency and operational efficiency.
∎ Strong technical knowledge of melt spinning, drawing, texturing, fiber formation, polymer chemistry rheology and fiber manufacturing processes.
∎ Monitor and adjust process parameters (temperature, pressure, speed) to ensure fiber consistency and quality.
∎ Proficient in analyzing fiber properties using relevant testing instruments.
∎ Optimize spinning parameters to maximize throughput, minimize waste and ensure product excellence.
∎ Collaborate with the product design team to align fiber specifications with final fabric performance requirements (e.g., strength, feel, durability).
∎ Maintain and troubleshoot spinning equipment, extruders, spinnerets, and cooling systems.
∎ Lead and develop a high-performing production and technical team.
∎ Drive continuous process improvements, implement best manufacturing practices and maintain safety and compliance standards.
∎ Collaborate closely with senior leadership on new projects, expansion plans, and innovation initiatives.
∎ Analyze fiber properties (denier, tenacity, elongation, shrinkage) and troubleshoot any defects or irregularities.
∎ Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, material yield and reduce production costs.
∎ Work closely with the Quality Assurance department to ensure adherence to product standards.
∎ Liaise with suppliers for raw material sourcing and technical support.
∎ Keep up to date with latest trends, technologies and sustainability practices in fiber production.
∎ Bachelor's degree in Textiles Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Chemical engineering or a related field.
∎ 10+ years leadership experience in polyester and nylon filament yarn production (chips to POY, DTY, FDY, PSF).
∎ Familiarity with machine settings, spinneret designs and post processing like drawing texturing and heat settings.
∎ Proven success in machine erection, plant set up and production stabilization.
∎ Hands-on experience with top global machinery brands such Oerlikon-Barmag, TMT, Neumag and related others.
∎ Job Summary:
∎ Responsible for the design, optimization and quality control of Spinning Plant to lead Polyester & Nylon Melt spinning operations from chips to POY, DTY, FDY and PSF used in home decor textiles, upholstery and technical fabrics. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for complete plant operations, including machine erection, production, quality control and process optimization. You will drive our new projects and ensure world-class standards in filament yarn manufacturing.
