Job Responsibilities:
∎ Fire Prevention: Developing and implementing fire prevention strategies and protocols within the facility. This involves assessing fire hazards, conducting risk assessments, and creating plans to mitigate potential risks.
∎ Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with local, state, and national fire safety regulations and codes.
∎ Inspections: Conducting regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems to identify fire hazards, ensure fire safety measures are in place, and rectify any non-compliance issues.
∎ Emergency Preparedness: Designing and implementing emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire drills, and training programs for staff to respond effectively in case of a fire emergency.
∎ Fire Safety Equipment Management: Overseeing the maintenance, installation, and testing of fire safety equipment such as fire alarms, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting to ensure they are functional and up to code.
∎ Risk Assessment and Analysis: Identifying potential fire risks through analysis of building layouts, materials used, electrical systems, and other factors, and recommending solutions to minimise these risks.
∎ Training: Providing fire safety training sessions to employees or occupants to raise awareness about fire safety practices and protocols.
∎ Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining records of fire safety inspections, equipment testing, training sessions, and any incidents.
∎ Collaboration and Coordination: Working closely with other departments, fire departments, and relevant authorities to ensure a coordinated approach to fire safety and emergency response.
