Job Context:
∎ Aurora is an international co-educational school in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It offers half-day and full-day programs for toddlers and pre-school students (2-3 year olds). It offers full day programs for Pre-Kindergarten to Class II students (4-7 year olds). The school will eventually offer academic programs for middle and high school students as well.
∎ The PYP Coordinator serves as the learning leader of the Early Years and Elementary School and is responsible for the implementation of the PYP.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Work with the Head of School and the school's management and faculty to develop a strong school culture based on academic excellence, social-emotional development, ethical leadership, respect and discipline, with an emphasis on being role models for all the members of the school community.
∎ Promote understanding and use of all PYP documents by all relevant staff members.
∎ Maintain a record of all completed PYP planners and the archive of all PYP records.
∎ Lead the process of reviewing and reflecting on the school's curriculum documents, including the program of inquiry and scope and sequence documents (annual plans).
∎ Assist teachers in developing and documenting units of inquiry; meet regularly with teachers to guide their planning, reflect on the teaching and learning experience and make adjustments to plans as needed (weekly grade-level meetings).
∎ Support faculty to plan curriculum that meets the IB PYP requirements. This includes supporting curriculum review and PYP planning processes, observing classes, giving feedback to teachers and doing meetings with teachers regularly.
∎ Observe classes on a regular basis to oversee the implementation of unit planners and ensure teaching and learning reflect the values of the school and best practices adopted by the school.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 45 years
∎ Meet with parents and respond to questions/ requests in a timely manner; lead and
∎ participate in parent information sessions/ workshops. Develop harmonious
∎ relationships with families to ensure the school and families work together to support
∎ student learning.
∎ Help ensure assessment and reporting practices reflect the school's values and policies
∎ and IB requirements; review all reports that are sent to parents.
∎ Keep all members of the school community informed about PYP activities, plans and
∎ progress and ensure all members are aware of academic activities and achievements.
∎ Circulate all relevant information received from the IB and ensure that teachers and
∎ other staff are kept up-to-date with current developments.
∎ Respond to requests for information from the IB, including program evaluation
∎ requirements.
∎ Provide a liaison between the school and the IB.
∎ Work to establish relationships with other PYP schools in the country and region.
∎ Arrange for own professional development needs to keep up-to-date with new
∎ developments within the PYP and education in general.
∎ . Excellent communication skills both in English and Bangla.
