• At least 5-7 years’ experience in relevant field including 4 years in NGO.

• Academic qualification can be relaxed for potential candidates.

• Good knowledge of accounting principles, MS Excel, and accounting software with strong analytical and communication skills.

• Sound knowledge in budget preparation, monitoring and budgetary control.

• Good understanding in internal control system and financial compliance.

• Ability to plan effectively and ensure the optimum use of available resources.

• Knowledge of general administration and related procedures.

• Excellent communication skills in both Bangla and English.

Since its inception, the organization has been implementing a wide range of activities to promote socio-economic development for poor and marginalized communities. WAVE also advocates for universal human rights and good governance through issue-based campaigns.

In accordance with the 6th Strategic Plan, WAVE has structured its activities under five major programs, which include Microfinance; Agroecology Focused Agri-food System Transformation; Governance, Rights and Justice; Climate Justice and Renewable Energy Promotion; and Community Development and Youth Empowerment. To support the effective financial management and implementation of its various programs and projects, WAVE is seeking qualified candidate for the position of Program Office under the Finance & Accounts Division.

Job Summary

The Program Officer, Finance and Accounts will be responsible to maintaining financial records; preparing, reviewing and verifying vouchers and invoices and financial statements; assisting in budgets preparation and donor financial reporting; maintaining bank accounts; ensuring timely payments and compliance with applicable financial regulations; updating financial data in accounting software and assisting in internal & external audits. The Program Officer will work closely with the Director and Coordinator of the Division to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of the Division’s activities and responsibilities. 

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records, accounts and ledgers.

• Prepare, review and verify vouchers, invoices and financial statements.

• Assist in budgets preparation and financial reports.

• Maintain bank accounts, ensure timely payments to the internal and external parties.

• Ensure compliance with applicable VAT & Tax. .

• Maintain and update accounting software and ensure the accuracy of financial data.

• Assist in internal & external audit and provide the necessary supporting documents.

• Perform other accounting related duties as assigned by management.

Compensation & Other Benefits

• Monthly consolidated salary is BDT. 35,000-40,000/- with other admissible benefits as per the organization`s policy.

• Salary and other admissible benefits, if any, are inclusive of all applicable taxes imposed by the government of Bangladesh. Taxes will be deducted at sources in accordance with the government rules and regulations.
