∎ The Integrated Development Foundation (IDF) is implementing a project titled ‘Facilitate access to crop-based finance to enhance vegetable production by 2,500 farmers in Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban District’ financed by USAID/Chemonics International Inc. The goal of the project is to strengthen the vegetable sector and increase cash flow in Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban district by facilitating capacity building training on production and technology, linkage-building workshops, exposure visit etc. to the low-income population of the target area.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the detailed implementation of the activity, staff supervision, and communication with relevant stakeholders. He/she will work at the field level and be responsible for the overall implementation of project activities in line with the project document and budget. The duties and responsibilities of the Production Manager are as follows:
∎ • Planning, organizing and implementing project as per plan & budget.
∎ • Determining resource requirements & ensuring efficiency in resource utilization.
∎ • Estimating costs and prepares budgets.
∎ • Conducting training for capacity building on vegetable production modern technology, postharvest, GAP and traceability.
∎ • Arranging linkage building workshop with vegetable farmers, arotdars and retailers.
∎ • Arranging exposure visit for farmers.
∎ • Organizing workflow to meet specifications and deadlines as delineated in the signed agreement and budget.
∎ • Supervising and evaluating performance of extension officers.
∎ • Maintaining liaison with project stakeholders including Chemonics/USAID.
∎ • Managing meetings, workshops, exposure visits etc.
∎ • Ensuring quality implementation of the project so that output meets quality standards.
∎ • Overseeing agricultural production of the target beneficiaries.
∎ • Reporting to senior management.
∎ • Performing other related duties as assigned by the supervisor /Executive Director of the IDF.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ • At least 5 years of experience in agriculture-related work in any reputed organization
∎ Or
∎ • At least 1 year of management experience in an agricultural project is required.
∎ - Have experience working with agricultural project.
∎ - Good operating skills of Microsoft Office package; and
∎ - Required to have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English & Bangla;
∎ - Understanding and speaking the local language of the project area is an advantage.
