  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, parents and industry partners.



Responsibilities & Context:

A principal of polytechnic Institute is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the institution, overseeing academic programs, faculty, staff, students and facilities, ensuring high-quality technical education delivery, maintaining industry partnerships and promotion the institute`s reputation within the community. The core job responsibilities are:-

Academic Leadership:       

  • Develop and implement the institute`s academic vision and strategic plan, aligning curriculum with industry needs.

  • Oversee the design and delivery of technical diploma programs across various engineering disciplines (e.g., civil, electrical, mechanical, computer science)·        

  • Monitor program quality, student learning outcomes, and faculty teaching effectiveness.      

  • Approve new courses, curriculum revisions and program development initiatives.

Administrative Management:        

  • Manage the institute`s budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and financial sustainability.        

  • Oversee day to day operations, including student admissions, registration, attendance and grading systems.       

  • Lead faculty recruitment, evaluation, and professional development activities.        

  • Manage facilities maintenance and infrastructure development.

Student Affairs:      

  • Promote a positive student learning environment and address student concerns.        

  • Foster student engagement through extracurricular activities, clubs and industry exposure.       

  • Provide career counseling and placement support for graduating students.

Industry Partnerships:       

  • Build and maintain relationships with local industries to secure internships, project collaborations and guest lectures.        

  • Identify industry trends and incorporate relevant skills into the curriculum.        

  • Explore opportunities for technology transfer and applied research projects.

Community Engagement:        

  • Represent the institute at industry events, conference and community gatherings·        

  • Collaborate with local government and educational institutions to promote technical education.        

  • Advocate for the institute`s mission and values to stakeholders.
