Responsibilities & Context:
Job Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all pathology laboratory operations, including biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, histopathology, and cytology.
Review, analyze, and validate laboratory test results and issue final reports.
Maintain quality assurance and ensure accuracy and reliability of laboratory tests.
Supervise laboratory technologists and provide necessary technical guidance.
Ensure all procedures comply with BMDC guidelines, hospital protocols, and national laboratory standards.
Develop and implement SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for laboratory tests and quality control.
Collaborate with physicians and clinicians to correlate laboratory results with clinical findings.
Monitor equipment performance and ensure calibration, maintenance, and proper usage.
Participate in procurement decisions for laboratory reagents, equipment, and consumables.
Conduct training and continuous development programs for laboratory staff.
Ensure proper documentation, sample management, and confidentiality of patient data.
