Requirements

Education:
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Optometry or a Diploma in Optometry from a recognized institute.

Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience. Experience in community eye health or field camps is highly preferred.

Skills: * Mastery of manual and automated refraction.

  • Resilience and willingness to travel frequently for outdoor programs.

  • Fluency in Bengali; basic proficiency in English is an advantage.

Aptitude: Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment, especially in field settings with limited resources.



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context

We are looking for a proactive Optometrist who is not only clinically proficient but also passionate about community service. This role involves managing patients within our hospital facility and leading eye care "camps" and outreach programs in various locations, both within Dhaka and in rural areas across Bangladesh.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Excellence: Conduct thorough eye examinations using standard clinical techniques. Perform precise refraction tests and prescribe corrective lenses.

  • Diagnostic Expertise: Operate advanced diagnostic machinery including Auto-Refractometer, Tonometer, and Slit-lamp.

  • Outreach & Camping: Lead and participate in eye camping programs inside and outside of Dhaka. This includes setting up mobile stations, screening large groups, and identifying patients for surgical referral.

  • Patient Referral: Identify ocular abnormalities and coordinate with ophthalmologists for medical or surgical intervention.

  • Counseling: Provide clear guidance to patients regarding vision care, hygiene, and the importance of follow-up treatments.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records for both in-house visits and field camp activities.
