Responsibilities & Context:

• Create safety plans and suggest improvements of existing infrastructure and business processes.
• Fire safety plan and Checklist by following NFPA / BNBC/ACCORD / Alliance guidelines.
• Conduct regular visits, audits, and checklist updates for fire suppression equipment across various locations, including the production floor, printing section, office room, kitchen, RMS room, and corporate office in Dhaka.
• This includes inspecting fire extinguishers, fire hydrant systems, CFDS systems, fire control panels, exit lights, and other safety-related equipment. Additionally, ensure the maintenance and updating of evacuation plans and all safety-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for fall protection, confined space protection, contractor safety, and machinery/goods lifting.
• To Maintain inventory and responsibilities for layout plan of all Fire suppressive equipment, issue/ distribution, routine re-filling upkeep, and maintenance of Fire Extinguishers and take necessary corrective actions as recommended by in-house and third-party audits.
• Schedule Maintenance and Ensure Proper Troubleshooting of the Fire Pump (Diesel, Electrical, and Jockey), CFDS, and fire door system.
• Draw a Work Plan, Guide and Supervise the Fire Safety Team, and conduct training for fire safety, firefighting, and other relevant teams regularly.
• To be pursued with government bodies of BEPZA & BFSCD office for renewal of fire license, fire safety plan & any other related Fire Safety issues.
• Assess risk and possible safety hazards of all aspects of operations.
• Find out the best way to prevent future accidents.
• Need to repair or suggest for repairs for the unsafe and/or damaged equipment.
• Share information, suggestions, and observations for project leadership to create consistency in safety standards throughout the factory.
• Follow up the monitoring of entire Safety Equipment & System (Fire, CCTV, Construction, Electrical and so on)Ensure that factory compliance requirements are implemented as per BLA-2006, BLR-2015 & others statutory requirements.
• Inspect fire suppression systems or portable firefighting systems to ensure proper working order.
• Help and direct rescue or firefighting operations in the event of a fire or an explosion.
• Face audit like ISO 22000, GMP, BSTI, HALAL etc. Investigate causes of accidents and other unsafe conditions in the job site.
• Review accidents and suggest to prevent similar future incidents.
• Ensure that relevant certificates are obtained and updated as per schedule.
• Prepare relevant Standard Operating Procedures, record keeping & reporting formats.
• Train workers in safety procedures, such as the use of firefighting equipment, fall protection devices or maintenance of proper ventilation, etc.
• Carry out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations. (Fire Drill. Emergency Response, etc.)
• Perform additional tasks assigned by senior management.
