A Nurse provides care for individuals, families, and communities to help them promote, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life. Their duties include assessing patients, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans. Nurses also educate patients and their families about health conditions and recovery processes. 

Specific Responsibilities of a Nurse:

• Patient Assessment: Evaluating patients' health status, identifying needs, and establishing care plans. 
• Medication Administration: Administering medications as prescribed by physicians, monitoring for side effects, and ensuring safe medication practices. 
• Monitoring: Observing and recording patient behavior, vital signs, and other indicators of health status. 
• Treatment: Assisting with medical procedures, wound care, and other treatments as directed by physicians. 
• Collaboration: Working with doctors, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. 
• Patient Education: Providing information and support to patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and preventative measures. 
• Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records, including patient assessments, care plans, and treatment administered. 
• Supervision: In some settings, supervising the work of less experienced nurses, nursing assistants, and other support staff. 
• Emotional Support: Providing emotional support and encouragement to patients and their families.
