Educational Requirements:
∎ Possess a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
∎ Advanced degree in veterinary epidemiology or related field preferred

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide technical advice and support for design, implementation, and maintenance of DLS-based monitoring and surveillance systems (MOSS), including for avian influenza and antimicrobial resistance
∎ Organize workshops and conduct epidemiology training for field officers including development of SOPs, protocols, and training modules
∎ Provide technical assistance to the DLS and software service provider for productive development and maintenance of the Bangladesh Animal Health Intelligence System (BAHIS)
∎ Collect, collate, analyze data and write reports for dissemination to stakeholders as needed, including assistance to the DLS Epi Unit for timely preparation of the quarterly annual epidemiology reports as well as facilitate DLS reporting to global information systems
∎ Contribute to develop disease control and risk mitigation strategies as needed
∎ Provide epidemiologic support to the DLS Epidemiology Unit, including for conducting efficient outbreak investigations and timely and technically sound reporting of investigation findings
∎ Contribute to programme progress reports and other documents required for programme implementation
∎ Participate in conducting scientific studies as needed, including the preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication
∎ Perform other related duties as required

∎ National of Bangladesh
∎ Technical/Functional Skills:
∎ Excellent writing, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills;
∎ Experience using one or more analytical software packages (e.g. SAS, SPSS etc.) preferred
∎ Fluent in English and Bengali languages
∎ Team player and experience working in a multi-cultural environment
∎ Previous related work experience in Bangladesh
